Mr. Yofi Grant

Mr. Yofi Grant is a non-Executive Director of Databank Brokerage Ltd,  Databank Private Equity Ltd and Databank Financial Services Ltd.

Prior to his retirement on December 31, 2012, Yofi was an Executive Director with responsibilities to Databank Financial Service Ltd and Databank Private Equity Ltd and was Chairman of Databank Brokerage from 2003 to 2009.

Yofi has over 23 years experience in banking and finance. Prior to his joining Databank in September 1996, he was at Cal (Merchant) Bank for seven years in a number of capacities including head of capital markets.

His experience includes treasury, credit and marketing, financial restructuring and management, divestiture and privatization as well as equity, debt and project finance and significant capital markets practices. 

He has been team leader of a number of ground breaking transactions in the domestic capital markets whilst at Databank.
 
Yofi has developed excellent relationships with major participants in the domestic financial markets and international fund managers in Europe and the USA, thereby acquiring extensive distribution and networking capability. He also has developed very significant relationships and networks within the domestic business environment. He has spoken on various issues relating to finance in Africa and African Capital markets in the conferences and seminars in the US, UK and in Africa.

Yofi consulted for the UNDP's Africa Asia Business Forum (AABF) from 2000 to 2001, building strong relationships with African and Asian business people. He was on the board of GT Vodafone (GT), where he became Chairman of of the Board of GT ONETouch (a mobile telephony operator) from 2005 to 2008.

He served as advisory Board member of the Oversight Committee of the Ghana Medium Term Private Sector Development Strategy from 2002 to 2008. He was a member of the Special Presidential Team for Ghana Asia Business from 2002 to 2008. He was also the Chairman of the Listing Committee of the Ghana Stock Exchange, a member of the Governing Council of the Ghana Stock Exchange. He is currently Chairman of the Finance Sector Committee of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), where he is a National Council member. He serves on a number of private sector company boards.

Additionally he has been an adjunct lecturer at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), the West African Institute of Finance and Economic Management (WAIFEM) as well as the National Banking College in Ghana.

Yofi, as a fellow of the Africa Leadership Initiative West Africa (ALIWA), is a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network (AGLN). He serves on the board of ALIWA which is engaged in promoting the principles of good and responsible leadership in the region.

Yofi holds a B.Sc in Psychology and studied for an M.Phil at the University of Ghana Legon.
